Have you ever witnessed a desert sunrise so beautiful that it overwhelmed your senses? Do you travel to places where the vistas, solitude and silence push all other thoughts out of your mind?

Welcome to the Blue Pacific Solar Hiking blog. Solar Hiking is a place where all who have a passion for exploration can share outdoor adventures, tell their stories, share their experiences with places, the people they meet and the equipment they use.

We hope you will get out there and turn the mountain forest, Alaskan tundra, Grand Canyon, wetlands, or grasslands into your personal wilderness classroom. Traveling the back-country of the Western States from the Colorado Rockies and Grand Canyon, to the Sierra Nevada Mountains from the time I was a boy scout with friends, we have been lucky to have had the opportunity to visit many beautiful places in wilderness areas that can only be reached by walking and carrying everything you need on your back.

History, geography, geology, biology and much more all populate the American landscape and our National Park System waiting for you to go on a journey of discovery. Take time to exercise your body and enrich your mind as you settle your soul in Grand Canyon or Sierra Mountain wilderness.

And while there won’t be a test at the end of your trip, you’ll come away with all the answers you could ever need.

The stories you will read about are not trail reviews, but real life stories that you might swap with your friends of adventures in the wilderness.

Solar hiking is where friends will share their backpacking and camping experiences, talk about solar equipment, gear and cool battery gadgets. I hope you will join us.

It is time we said good-by to the cars, noise and crowds and step off the rim. I promise every switchback will bring a new adventure.
